Feminism and Children's Literature Padlet

The Padlet on this page was created as the final project for IST 571: Children's Literature.  The assignment required students to develop a single "Big Idea" text set and create an accompanying list of essential questions and activities connected to that Big Idea.  

I created a text set focused on the "Big Idea" of Feminism and Children's Literature, using the novel The Hope Chest, by Karen Schwabach, written for grades 3-6, as my main text. My text set incorporated books from the EngageNY P-12 ELA text list, as well as books from a wide variety of genres, including picture books, novels, nonfiction books, graphic novels, and anthologies.
